[...] Retailing | Christopher Butcher continues his live-blogging of his monthly Diamond order: “I’m kind of having guilt pangs about not ordering this terrible fucking Obama/Resident Evil ‘parody,’ because I know it will sell off the rack, but it’s just conceptually awful, like the terrible Barbarian comics probably will too. But no one has preordered them so I just don’t want them on the rack, I’d like to stand for something, you know? Anyway, I am conflicted. But I am not ordering them. If someone really wants one they can do a special order.” [Comics212] [...]

<blockquote cite="The feel of reading old comics is a much nicer one, to me, than the feel of reading badly-computer-recoloured comics with digitally altered linework. I hope I’m not in the minority? I’d much rather see this kind of reprint, when good-quality copies exist to shoot from (or be fixed with minor tweaks).">

I'm totally with you on that, but I think we just might be in the minority. Certainly, Marvel & DC don't think their readers want colour-scanned classic comics, since they always go the recolouring route, which is much more expensive to produce.

Thank you for saying no to the Obama-cash-in wave. I mean, I'm certainly glad that there's still enough goodwill to allow a continuing market for those things, but...

Yeah, honestly. Come on, publishers. Be better than that?

There's a $17 paperback of the FAHRENHEIT 451 adaptation, apparently being released the same time as the hardcover, but for some reason Diamond is listing it in the next issue of Previews.

I'm looking forward to the big fat Ninja Turtles book. I've read some later stuff (when artists like Mark Martin, Michael Zulli and Rick Veitch worked on the series), but never the original Laird/Eastman stuff until the FCBD edition of #1.
