On a slight tangent, the statue of the dog Hachiko there has a banner for a candidate for the Tokyo Legislature elections. Also, this statue is the inspiration for the name given to Nana Komatsu (Hachi) in the Nana series.

If you’re really interested in those drawer cabinets, you might want to take a look at Can-Am cabinets–they’re in the GTA (up by 407/404) and they make pretty much exactly those things. (Before I more-or-less gave up on CDs, I was contemplating them for CD storage–seemed like a very nice solution to storing LOTS of stuff with a small footprint. I suspect the drawers would also work well with manga).
