If I had a small banner ad (468×60) between every post on the site that was 1000 words or more (at the end of the post), how upset would you be?
1 is not upset, 10 is stop-reading-the-site.
Answer honestly, I can take it.
EDIT:
Hey, thanks for the support folks. It looks like, judging by people who bothered to respond, about 5% of you are going to end up annoyed with me. I guess we’ll find out soon.
And yeah, I have no plan to start using Google Adsense. The lack of control is really gross, I generally approve every advertisement that runs on the site, something I can’t do with Google. I know a number of my friends ended up with pro-Prop 8 ads through AdSense, for example, and I’d rather take my site offline then have something like that happen.
New post soon.

Depends on the banner.
Something comic or book related, or otherwise innocuous? 1
0, as I generally just read the RSS feed.
1 (but I wouldn’t see it anyway–even if there was no AdBlock it would still be pretty low, maybe a 2)
I wouldn’t be upset at all….er…0
I’d put it at a “2” as well, though I have the same question as Stacy about the type of ads. I have no idea how those banner systems work and how much control you’d have over which ads ran, and I’d hate to see you stuck with something horrible.
1. Whatever it takes to reward you for your efforts and/or keep the site going.
1. Don’t care as long as it’s noting ridiculous.
1: not upset at all…do what you have to do.
1. Could careless. Comics related a zero.
1. Just never add in-text ads. Those make me stop reading sites.
1.
Hmm it depends…
9- If I see another MangaFox ad.
8- And I sure don’t want them to show up on the RSS feed.
4- Anything else.
Heh, manga pirate ads was the first thing to come to my mind too… that would be a 10.
That’s the thing, isn’t it? I don’t care how many ads there are, but what what kind of ads they are. As long as flash heavy ads are kept to a minimum so that I can still scroll the browser without delay, and they are sufficiently distinguishable from the content, 1.
Ed & Simon- What’s mangafox? Did I run an ad for them or something?

One of many for-profit membership pirate sites with pilferred scanlations. They’re coming up through Google Adsense mainly.
And no, I haven’t seen it on your site, but they pop up on a lot of other manga blogs, and even Publisher’s Weekly…
The problem is Google, really. They just don’t seem to care enough to do a thing about it.
1 – as long as it’s not some hideous seizure-inducing animated thing, or one of those terrifying pimple-popping ones I keep seeing on Hotmail.
Mangafox is for profit? Really? (I never really thought about it much, I guess some people would be morally against scanlations…Anyways…)

Actually I hate ads between post. They are more acceptable on the sides.
But mostly I do read the posts in my reader, so I wouldn´t see the ads.
1 — if it supports 212, it’s good.

I´d say 11 which means in 2010 I´m gonna fly over to canada and suplex Chris Butcher for his annoying adds.
Unless it´s something sleazy, in which case I´m gonna say 1.
1 – You are providing the great info about comic industry. I hope you can get the reward.
