I’ve never posted this sort of list before but I figured it’s kind of interesting to see what our numbers are like versus what the numbers are like for the rest of the industry. I’d say that, in general the big trends tend to hit us the same way, though you can see the benefits of hand-selling and engaged and happy clerks making their presence felt around the middle of the list.
It’s also worth noting that All Star Superman #10 from a few weeks ago would have charted just on a standard best-seller list, as would Dragon Head Volume 10 and a few other graphic novels… and it was a sort of a light-week for graphic novels. I felt that this list was a little more interesting though…enjoy. I’d love to hear comments or see similar lists from my retailing friends…

Well, I enjoy Buffy and The Boys, and Project Superpowers is much better than I was expecting…
I’m astounded that Omega the Unknown is that high.
Dave- We’ve spent a long time building up a fanbase for both Lethem and Farel Dalrymple… we also rep his original art sales at our website. But honestly? Omega is great. It sells even better over the course of the month because a lot of the readers are “casual” readers, and don’t hit the shop every week.

cool.
Interesting, mostly fantasy/superheros, how far down do the more indy type books show up in numbers?
great sort of thing to make a habit of, be interesting to see a GN list too! 🙂
Wow!
I was pretty much in agreement on your top 20 list (as compared to my own shop), and then I saw TRIALS OF SHAZAM!??
What have you got up there, some local cult that reveres in the seven deadly sins, or something? Well, it’s good to know there was a reason to publish it, anyway, as hundreds of Toronto comic fans give reason for it to exist. I only wish my shop could single handedly support a book like that. I remember a time long ago when we sold an outrageous amount of Morrison’s Seaguy, and I was quite happy my tiny little store was responsible for about half a percent of the comics sales overall.

Vernon- Hah. I can’t figure it out either.
Anyway, we sold tons of Seaguy as well, and as for “half a percentage point”, we figured out the other day that on a book solicited to the direct market our store was 12% of the total order. THAT’S a little scary.
